Nostromo - Private Party Venue in Dublin 2

Nostromo in Georgian DublinNostromo is a restaurant which occupies the basement of an elegant Georgian house on Leeson Street, in the centre of Dublin (Dublin 2 area).

How Nostromo started...

Realising that there was a lack of inexpensive, à la carte lunch dining in the heart of Dublin's traditional business district, Philip Cafolla opened Nostromo on Lower Leeson Street in June 1998.

While operating primarily as a lunch restaurant, Nostromo began to take increasing business in the area of private parties. These nights proved hugely successful, and Nostromo has continued to expand on the range of evening options offered, including the option of using the restaurant as a private party venue.

We have exciting entertainment options to gurarantee a fun-filled day or night either in-house or outsourced in various locations near Dublin.

Please browse our site to see examples of our unbeaten success in delivering a private party to remember.

A little bit of family history...

The Cafolla family have established a tradition in catering in Dublin spanning three generations.

Established in the 1930's, Cafolla ice cream became a household name, the 'Knickerbocker Glory' being a special treat for child and adult alike. In 1962, Philip's father opened the first American diner-style café in Dublin, the "Monaco Café" on O' Connell Street.

A short time later the 1930's Chicago-style "Embassy Club" was opened. The Embassy was Dublin's first, and probably only, true live nightclub venue, with such acts as Can-Can and Go-Go dancers.

In February 1996, Philip was involved in the establishment of the hugely popular "Trastevere Trattoria" in Dublin's Temple Bar.

Nostromo was opened in June 1998 and has continued to offer inexpensive, à la carte lunchs and has also established itself as a leading private party venue.
